Fermented Honey

Fermented honey is a unique, edible, and is caused by a naturally occurring process that can happen to any raw honey. Raw honey is unheated, which preserves the naturally occurring pollen, enzymes and yeasts that many claim offer increased health benefits over heated honey. Fermented honey is special because it has a higher moisture content that most honeys, which allows the yeasts and enzymes to start the fermentation process. Our honey has a much lower moisture content than mead, so it is not alcoholic, but it does change the look and taste of the honey.
